By using Font Atlas you agree to these terms. They are short and mostly common sense.
1. What this site is
Font Atlas provides educational articles, reference material, and interactive tools about fonts and typography. Access is free and requires no account.
2. Use of content
All written content on this site is © Font Atlas unless otherwise noted. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the source page. You may not republish full articles, scrape the site for training data or content farms, or present our content as your own. To license content for other uses, contact us.
3. Fonts and third-party materials
Font Atlas hosts no font files. Typefaces discussed on this site are the property of their respective designers and foundries, and typeface names may be registered trademarks. Links to font sources (Google Fonts, Font Squirrel, foundry websites, and others) point to third-party sites governed by their own terms and licences. Downloading or using any font is subject to that font's licence, not to these terms — always read the licence that ships with the font.
4. No professional advice
Articles about font licensing, trademarks, or any legal topic are general educational information, not legal advice. Licences vary between foundries and change over time. For decisions with legal or financial consequences, read the actual licence text and consult a qualified professional.
5. Accuracy and availability
We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but we make no warranty that the site is error-free, complete, or continuously available. Typographic history in particular contains disputed claims; where we know of a dispute, we flag it. If you find an error, please tell us.
6. Interactive tools
Tools such as the font pairing tool are provided "as is" for exploration and convenience. Preview rendering may differ between browsers and operating systems; always test typography choices in your target environment.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to disrupt the site, probe or breach its security, use automated tools to scrape it at scale, or use the contact form to send spam or unlawful content.
8. Advertising
The site may display third-party advertising. Advertisers are responsible for their own content and offers; a product appearing in an ad is not an endorsement by Font Atlas. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Font Atlas is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including decisions made about font selection or licensing.
