Privacy Policy — Font Atlas
Font Atlas is a typography resource website. We publish guides, typeface histories, an interactive font pairing tool, and a plain-English glossary for designers, developers, and hobbyists. We do not host or sell font files, we do not require an account to use the site, and we do not sell your data. This page explains what information gets collected when you visit, how it is used, and what your rights are.
Short version
We collect very little. Contact form submissions are used only to reply to you. Analytics cookies are off by default and only load if you accept them. We show Google AdSense ads to keep the site free, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at any time. We never sell your data.
1. Who We Are
Font Atlas is owned and operated by IntraTech Middle East LLC. For any privacy-related question or request, contact us via our Contact page or at [email protected].
2. What Information We Collect
Information you give us
Font Atlas does not have user accounts or registration. The only way you give us information directly is through our Contact page. When you submit that form, we receive:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you send
This is processed through our form provider, Formspree, and delivered to us by email. We use it only to reply to you — we do not add you to any mailing list.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running, and is retained only as long as our hosting provider's standard policy requires.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles and tools people find useful — for example, how many visitors a guide gets and which country they browse from. This is configured with Google Consent Mode: analytics storage is set to denied by default, and no analytics cookies are placed on your device unless you accept them through the cookie banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no such cookies are set. We also enable IP anonymisation, which truncates your IP address before it is stored.
We never collect names, email addresses, or any other identifying information through analytics, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Local storage
We use your browser's local storage for one thing only: remembering your cookie-consent choice, so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. This value never leaves your device.
3. Google AdSense and Advertising Cookies
Font Atlas uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. This is how we keep the site free for everyone.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Where you have consented, ads may be personalised based on your browsing activity. Where you have not, ads shown are non-personalised.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings, or by using the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool.
Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads on Font Atlas — it means the ads you see will be less personalised.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Font Atlas uses the following:

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are shown a consent message before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, and you may decline them.
You can also manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
5. How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the data we collect for three things:
- Running the website — keeping pages loading, fixing errors, and making sure the site and the pairing tool work on all devices
- Understanding our audience — through analytics (only with consent), we learn which guides and tools people find most useful
- Replying to your messages — if you contact us, we use your email to write back to you
We do not use your data for profiling, and we do not use it for any automated decision-making that affects you.
6. What We Do NOT Do
- No user accounts — you cannot sign up, log in, or create a profile
- No payment processing — we do not collect any financial information
- No selling of your data — we do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information
- No font hosting — we do not host font files ourselves; all font recommendations link to their original, legitimate sources (such as Google Fonts and Font Squirrel)
- No social login — we do not connect with your Facebook, Google, or other social accounts
7. Third-Party Services
Font Atlas uses the following third-party tools to operate the site. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Google Fonts. Pages on this site load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google states that Fonts requests are not used for profiling and are cached heavily. See Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
- Google Analytics 4. Aggregate usage statistics, loaded with Consent Mode so that no analytics cookies are set unless you accept. Google acts as our data processor for this. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense. We display advertisements through Google AdSense. See Section 3 above and Google's Privacy Policy for full details.
- Formspree. Contact-form submissions pass through Formspree's servers. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with marketing companies.
The only circumstances under which information might be shared are:
- With the service providers listed in Section 7, solely to operate the website
- If required by law — for example, if a court order requires us to disclose information
9. Legal Bases (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process personal data on the following bases: consent for analytics and advertising cookies and personalised ads; legitimate interest for security logging and responding to messages you send us; and legal obligation where retention is required by law.
You can change your mind at any time. Clearing cookies and site data for fontatlas.net removes your stored preference, and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
10. Data Retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, then deleted. If you want your message deleted sooner, email us and we will remove it.
Server logs are retained only as long as our hosting provider's standard policy requires. Analytics data (where consented) is aggregated and not tied to individuals.
11. Children's Privacy
Font Atlas is a general-audience typography resource and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, email us at [email protected] and we will delete it right away.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data.
General rights (everyone): you can request deletion of anything submitted through our contact form, decline analytics and advertising cookies through the consent banner, and manage cookies through your browser settings at any time.
If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR): you have the right to access your data, correct it, request deletion, restrict how it is processed, and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
If you are in California (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, request its deletion, and opt out of any sale of your data. We do not sell data — but you have this right regardless.
Because we hold almost no personal data — typically only contact-form messages — exercising these rights is usually as simple as asking us to delete it. Contact us via the Contact page or at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days.
13. Security
- All data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted via HTTPS
- We store no accounts, no passwords, and no payment information — the site has none of those features
- Access to contact-form submissions is limited to authorized personnel
No website can guarantee 100% security. If you believe there has been a security issue, contact us immediately at [email protected].
14. Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy — for example, when new tools or third-party services are added — we will update this page and the "Last Updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage.
Continuing to use Font Atlas after an update means you accept the revised policy.
